Frequently Asked Questions.

You’ve got questions? That’s good! We want to answer them. Below are some of the most common questions we are asked, and the answers to them. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, please do get in touch.

We have a large number of staff trained up to cover payroll. Why would we need to bring in a third party such as you?

It’s good to hear that you have back up. But if the recent pandemic taught us anything, it’s that we need to be prepared for the unforeseen. We also provide a service where we can cover if your staff need to upskill simultaneously, or if they are needed for another project.

We would never outsource our payroll. The information is too sensitive and we take our GDPR responsibilities seriously.

Choosing CR Payroll is not outsourcing your payroll. Think of us as a shadow employee abiding by all your IT policies and governance. We use your software and always work within your domain. All your sensitive data remains secure within your network.

Our payroll is very complicated. Wouldn’t it take a long time for you to come to terms with its intricacies?

Our payroll team are all CIPP and iPass qualified with a reach of knowledge across all payroll platforms. We have developed processes to allow us to gather the information needed to run your payroll in your absence. You choose the times and we will gather all that is needed. There is no payroll our team can't handle.

I run my payroll through an outsourced provider. Does that mean I can’t avail of your services?

No! We’d be delighted to work with you. We support both inhouse and outsourced payroll. For outsourced payroll we support the colleague that collates the inputs for the outsourcer.

You have a two hour Service Level Agreement (SLA). What does that mean exactly?

Our two hour SLA is a guarantee that we will have the payroll started for you within 2 hours of you contacting us. We pick the payroll up from the point of failure and bring it to completion for you. We are proud of our 100% adherence to our SLA commitment.

How long will it take to onboard me as a new client?

Typically this process takes three to five days following contract signature. We document your current payroll processes. You sign off on the schedule and timelines. We work with your IT team to arrange remote access and the necessary credentials. Then we test the payroll cycle to make sure everything is working as it should. And that’s it. Payroll processing can now begin within two hours of you contacting us.

I’m nervous about our company data leaving the security of our system. How can you ensure our sensitive information is protected?

We work with your IT team to ensure we can access your systems remotely. We will always work within your company's firewall, on a laptop you supply, running your chosen software. This ensures we’re aligned to all your IT policies and governance requirements. We work on your equipment, using your software. Your data never leaves the safety of your network.
